Dachshund

The Dachshund is a small yet bold breed, known for its long body, short legs, and lively personality. Available in two sizes—Standard (16-32 lbs) and Miniature (11 lbs or under)—they also come in three coat types: smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired, in various colors and

patterns. Despite their short stature, Dachshunds are energetic and always ready for adventure, though they aren’t suited for long-distance running or jumping. They are smart, alert, and fearless, making great watchdogs, but their independent nature can make them a bit stubborn. Their grooming needs depend on the coat type: Smooth Dachshunds require minimal care, Longhaired Dachshunds need regular brushing, and Wirehaired Dachshunds benefit from occasional hand-stripping. All Dachshunds should have their nails trimmed monthly to keep them comfortable and healthy.
